Your questions answered

Can I enter?
Anyone over the age of 13 can enter a 5k Legacy Event. Our 2012 metre fun runs are open to anyone aged under 16 with parental consent.

How do I enter?
Click the ‘enter online’ button above or download and print and entry form to return in the post.
You can enter on the day although we do recommend you pre-register online or by post to avoid queues on the day.

Do I have to raise funds for a good cause?
No, although we would like you to complete a ‘My Legacy is...’ statement on entry to inform us your personal reason for entering. 

When will I receive my participant number?
We post all participant numbers 30 days before the event and then every week within 30 days to the event.

Do I get a £2 discount if I hold a governing body competition licence?
Yes the event is under UK Athletics rules. Once you reach the entry page simply enter the promotion code AFFILIATED and apply to receive your discount. You must be able to provide your licence number on request.

Where can I park?
Parking can be seen on the course map as a blue 'P' and there will be signposts and parking stewards to direct you on the day.

Where do I go on arrival?
You do not need to inform us of your arrival if you already have your participant number. There will be a warm up area and directions to the start line clearly signposted.

Where can I store my personal belongings?
There will be designated storage areas which will be clearly signposted on arrival. We encourage participants to wear unwanted warm up tops that they are willing to donate to charity in collection bins near the start area. It saves you the hassle of storing and collecting personal belongings and our partner Kit Aid will distribute the clothing to over 30 different countries in need.

What do I receive on completion?
Each participant of the main event will receive a free t-shirt which upon entering you will be asked for your size. Under 16 year olds taking part in the fun run will receive a medal.

What is there to do after the event?
There will be activities throughout and after the event including food stalls and fun games. So if you want to spectate come along and support your family, friends and colleagues.

Where can I view photos and results?
Photos and results will be available to view on this event page. Please select the ‘Photo’ or ‘Results’ tab above following the event.

Simple steps to start fundraising

1. Choose your challenge - Enter a Legacy Event
2. Choose your good cause - Choose any charity, community and voluntary group or community amateur sports club.
3. Raise funds online - Click the Just Giving link on the below for the event you entered. You will be asked to sign in or create an account. If you don’t already have a Just Giving account, creating one will take less than a minute and then you can start making your fundraising page straight away.
4. Raise funds the paper based way - Download a fundraising form
5. Tell everyone - Share your Just Giving page and/or your sponsor form with friends, family and colleagues. Visit our Downloads Page for posters, banners and much more to help you fundraise.

Legacy Corporate Package and Mini-Sponsorship

The Legacy Corporate Challenge is a great way for businesses to be part of their local Legacy Event. Join thousands of competitors across eight various events and raise funds for any good cause of your choice. Each event presents an opportunity for businesses and organisations in the local area to get involved and enter a team in the event.

The Legacy Corporate Challenge package includes the following fantastic benefits:

Legacy Charity Support

The Legacy Event Series are offering charities the opportunity to get involved in our events. As we don't charge charities to be a partner in our events we have been inundated with requests to promote different charities. As a result we have put some simple packages together to support charities with their promotion.

Enter 5 participants in a single Legacy Event and we will:

• Put your charity logo and website link on the Legacy Event charity page

Enter 10 participants in a single Legacy Event and we will:

• Put your charity logo and website link on the Legacy Event charity page
• Invite your charity to set up a stall at the event

Enter 20 participants in a single Legacy Event and we will:

• Put your charity logo and website link on the Legacy Event charity page
• Invite your charity to set up a stall at the event
• Include your charities' promotional material in the goody bags handed to every runner at the event
